Collection point for unused maternity equipment
Stichting Babyhope is looking for people who would like to collect maternity equipment.
Pregnant women in the Netherlands receive a maternity package with medical equipment which they will need during childbirth. Many women give birth in hospital, so they have a lot of equipment which is never used. This surplus equipment cannot be returned to the store and therefore tends to end up in the bin. People can find a collection point via our website. They will then take the package to this point themselves. Some colleagues have a container outside and others accept the items in person, whatever you like. If your items are starting to get in the way, a transport volunteer can come to collect them or you can take them to the depot in Leidsche Rijn. Most collection points receive goods an average of twice a week.
This voluntary work is very easy to combine with work and/or children. It doesn't take much time but makes a big difference. As well as providing babies and women all over the world with access to essential medical items during childbirth, it also helps to combat waste.
