MediaMakers Utrecht
What does MediaMaker offer?
MediaMakers Utrecht is for people with a passion for photography. We offer a unique opportunity that allows you to gain work experience, build a network, establish a platform for your work and take a free professional course (six lessons)! As a volunteer photographer, you will be photographing volunteers and voluntary organisations in Utrecht, as well as events and activities that focus on voluntary work. You will build up your own portfolio of photos, which will also become the property of VC Utrecht. We will use them on our website and social media channels to highlight all the good things that volunteers can offer the city!
What do we ask of a MediaMaker?
- a demonstrable affinity with photography;
- some experience of photo editing software such as Photoshop;
- you enjoy dealing with people or would like to learn this skill;
- you would like to improve both your photographic abilities and social skills;
- professional and intellectual capacities at senior secondary vocational education (MBO) or higher professional education (HBO) level;
- you have a digital single-lens reflex camera;
- you are available for at least one year (four to eight hours per week).
MediaMaker course
We offer a free photography course (six lessons) provided by a professional photographer. You will learn more about various techniques and learn how to work on assignments. You will also be given various homework assignments. During your work, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to request feedback.
As well as building a portfolio for yourself, you will highlight the various kinds of voluntary work that are going on in the city. This will help to increase their visibility!
